Last year when I found out Kylie was touring in December, I went ahead and bought tickets even though I wasn't sure if I'd be in Sydney at the time. I bought a ticket for myself and one for my sister, since I was pretty sure my husband didn't want to go with me. Well we did end up making it to Sydney and so here are some photos.. I only uploaded a few, the majority aren't very good and kinda boring anyway!

Well, not my own. mygu informed me that the Stitch guy that I had my photo taken with, was from Gamespot. I even feature for a split second in their video coverage (@ 53:19). Apparently quite a few people had their photo taken with him. :P

In other news, the other week, after a month of going to check our mail almost every day at the post office, I finally got a package slip which could only be the ipod touch, since everything else I had been expecting in the meantime had arrived. When the post office lady handed me the small box, I immediately knew something was wrong.. the box was way too light. I opened the box right then and there only to have my worst fears confirmed! All the box had was the packing slip from Best Buy and a strip of those packaging air bubbles. Needless to say I was very very upset.. first it had taken over a month to get here and finally when it did, it was empty. I rushed home to get on the phone. I ran into a neighbour on the way and told him what happened and he thought it was probably stolen. After Brit examined the package he came to the same conclusion. Whoever had filled out the customs slip on the package wrote "IPOD" nice and big under the contents. -.- The usual thing is to describe the contents vaguely as to not tempt thieves. Anyway I know I shouldn't blame whoever filled it out.. the real bad guy is whoever stole it, most likely someone at the military mail processing center. I called Best Buy and explained what happened and they offered me a refund since they would not resend it to APO since you can't fully track it. I was quite happy with a refund, I didn't want to risk the mail system again and additionally the BX had finally gotten in the new ipods anyway. So off we went and bought one. :P

Speaking of the BX.. We bought a food processor and it was dead out of the box. :( It's funny because we bought it on a whim and when I came home I checked reviews on Amazon and they weren't favourable of that particular model (a Hamilton Beach). I decided to just stick with it instead of returning it, but then it turned out to be a dud! I ended up getting a refund instead of exchanging and now I just need to decide on one to get off Amazon.

Finally onto some more pleasant recent shopping news. I bought some bells off ebay and one seller I dealt with was as lovely as can be, quickly responding to emails and generally being helpful. The other though I didn't have any correspondence with them, wrote amusing/cute things on the envelope. The package is stamped with "DO NOT BEND"s but she/he handwrote "Please" and "or crush" around them. There was also a handwritten "Thank you! In God & our troops we trust" (aww) and a "Thank you kind postal persons!" which was cute but also LOL. Kind postal persons my butt.. dirty postal thieves grr!

So we went to TGS again this year.. of course I would have preferred to hit up Blizzcon but that's a tad more expensive. :P

So, our copy of Soul Calibur IV arrived (after waiting for the BX to get it in we finally got fed up and ordered it off amazon)..

Me: (watching) Equipment destruction, wtf?
Me: (realises the opponent isn't wearing pants anymore) WTF where'd her pants go!?
Brit: I guess I broke her pants!

Blah I have to make dinner first, then watch ANTM, then I'll have time to play. >)

A few days ago I was riding the freight elevator up to my apartment, I noticed that on the flyer posted inside was some black marker blackening something out.. I angled my head around and could see the ballpoint written underneath -- "There is no god". I live on the ninth floor so I had time to dig around in my tote, whip out a pen and scrawl "Censor much?" before the doors opened.

Now I forgot about this completely afterwards, since I normally take the passenger elevator (it's slightly faster). This afternoon, Brit reported to me that I had received a reply, so I went out with my camera and called the elevator.

In black marker the same width as above, the reply to my question: "Yup."

IMO "There is no god" is pretty tame graffiti on a flyer from a fundamentalist church trying to lure children with dinosaurs.

Well spring has struck (about two weeks ago!), blahblah, I'm in Japan, cherry blossoms etc.

There are tonnes of these trees around the base. This year I took some photos! They surprisingly don't last long. The trees go from bare, to red buds, to blossoms, to green foliage pretty fast. The blossoms were out for less than a week.. it probably didn't help that we had some windy/rainy weather so they were blown away fast.

Wow, I had always thought it'd be cool to see a Disney on Ice thing. Well I don't want to see The Little Mermaid on ice after seeing this photo..



Ariel looks like she's played some random bag lady and King Triton looks like his head's on backwards.. those shoulder blades look like pecs. o.O Not to mention that the whole split-tail-legs thing looks creepy and weird.

So it's a 3 song set to get our plane..

Brit's on hard bass, I'm on hard drums, it's a mystery set OHNOES.

We make it through, but a weird muscle in the front of my ankle is hurting and Brit's getting pain in his fingers. We plan on stopping after this set, only two more songs to go. The second song loads..

I start complaining and telling him to turn it off, but he wants to see how far we'll make it.

We fail miserably. :P

As much as I love (to LISTEN TO) Metallica, I seriously seriously regret getting the Metallica song pack on Rock Band. Ohh how stupid I was.. Ever since I first started playing Guitar Hero I thought of how cool it would be if you could play Metallica. My prayers were answered in Rock Band but now.. TAKE YOUR METALLICA BACK AND GIVE US BACK OUR MONEY. D: Mystery sets ALWAYS pick a damn Metallica song. >.

So I managed to find Twinings brand Earl Grey while in Mississippi, woot. They don't get them in the commissary here. This is silly, but it was heart warming to see the "ou" spelling of "bergamot flavouring". ^.^

I FIGURED IT OUT!

I figured out why silly Americans say "Aussie" as "Aw-see" and not properly like "OZZIE" (the 's' as a hard 'z' sound and not soft 's' sound).

Just saw an ad for the Aussie shampoo and even though there was an Australian accented voice-over lady, she totally pronounced it the crazy COMPLETELY NON AUSTRALIAN WAY! How could she stomach saying it like that! I'm pretty sure I've never ever heard any Australian pronounce it like that. HOW COULD SHE JUST LET THE AD GO LIKE THAT! AHHHHHHHH!

That is an ice cream cake Brit insisted on buying and then decorating. :p We had some last night and meh I don't like frosting but the rest (ice cream!) was nice.

I don't have much else to post except some photos of sushi that we usually eat when we go out for SATURDAY NIGHT SUSHI!!!!!!!!!! Every Saturday night we go to a sushi train place about 30mins walk from the base.. the place is called Totoyamichi and it's usually packed and you have to wait in line. I scrawl "mishiru" in katakana on the waiting list and then we get seated when places free up. Previously I felt weird about pulling out a camera and taking photos but whatever :P Wanted to get some photos! HERE THEY AREEEE!!!!
